Rules of Play
Lowest score wins. Usually, the contest is based on medal play (total strokes over ten hole Pro Shop course or four hole Short Course), although match play (each hole played as a separate mini-contest) is an acceptable option.Players must play whole round with one club only.
Players with lowest scores on preceding hole tee off first.
Furthest ball from bell is played first on every shot after teeing off.
Players may roll ball over in mowed fairway part of yard to improve their lie provided ball is not:
- advanced towards the bell
- moved more than a club head, and
- the angle to the bell is not improved.
In areas of the yard designated as "rough", balls must be played as they lie.
If player finds himself "stymied", that is, with his ball stopped close to, or up against, the sides of the wicket, he must play out of his predicament without striking the bell with his club. Striking the bell at any time with the club incurs a penalty stroke.
